Sweet Surprises for February

February is my favorite month of the year because it is the month my son was born. It’s hard to believe that lil’ peanut that the doctors didn’t think would live through the night has grown into a 6’+ young man.

February is extra bittersweet because of my favorite holiday- Valentine’s Day. Every year, I get to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the two loves on my life. (My hubby and my son- Life doesn’t get any sweeter than this!)

Life is Sweet…

My newest unit Valentine Math and Literacy Activities has been posted to my TPT store. I had a lot of fun creating this activity. Someone once asked me where my ideas come from. Hmm... Well, I carry around a notebook in my “bookbag” and jot down titles, ideas, and etc. as they come to me. Often, I am bouncing ideas off of my mom as we chat on the phone. Sometimes flipping through a magazine, book, or even an ancient teaching resource gives me an idea or two. Plus, I work with some amazing teachers and they often throw an idea here and there to me. (Have I told you lately how lucky I am to work with such amazing people? Love-Love-Love my co-teachers!!)

My newest unit Valentine Math and Literacy Activities was based on my kiddos needs and the requests from my blog followers. (Thanks for the emails and requests- Keep them coming!!!)

Freebie- Just Posted to TPT

Lots of Love

Print letter tiles onto cardstock and laminate. Number heart containers 1-10. Fill each heart container with one C-V-C word.

 

Place containers in a basket. Print recording sheet- I print mine front/back to save paper. There are enough letter tiles to create several center stations.

The Poppin’ Penguin Parade

Well, I just finalized my penguin unit! It has been a slow process as I have been working on since November. It was time to crack down and get it done and loaded. Thanks Mom for reviewing – you're the BEST!!

Happy New Year

It is hard to believe that 2011 is over and 2012 has begun. It seems like yesterday my son brought home a shirt that said Class of 2012 and thought-we have time.

 

Well time has slipped away quite rapidly, but I have been truly blessed in so many ways over the years… I am truly grateful for my family and my friends.

As I celebrate today, tomorrow, and my future, I wanted to share some new creations.

Today I uploaded a favorite game of mine for free at my TPT store. This is a great sight word reinforcement activity. The kids "love" playing and often forget they are practicing their words because they are having “snow” much fun.
